Ken left AT&T in 2000 to become part of a start-up management team creating EPIK Communications, a wholesale carriers’ carrier based in Orlando, Florida. He designed EPIK’s advanced services strategy, created both the Product Innovation Group and EPIK Labs, and implemented a suite of “enlightened” IP and Ethernet products. He later served as EPIK’s Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Technology Officer. He also led a team to create the vision for “The NAP of the Americas” and ensure it was implemented in Miami, Florida. In Jan 2003, Ken continued as an entrepreneur and formed Technology Assurance Labs to provide consulting, design, and testing services to venture capital groups, network equipment manufacturers, and service providers. Technology Assurance Labs started developing products in 2010 and in 2011 received venture capital funding to develop RFID products used in the rail industry and wireless sensor products for the propane and natural gas industry.

Ken is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), was published in IEEE Communications Magazine, and was Vice Chair of the 2014 IEEE Ad Hoc Committee for Entrepreneurship. He is a Board member of Vaughn College and the 2016 Strategic Planning Committee for the IEEE Technical Activities Board. Ken was born and raised in Tanzania, East Africa–during his lifetime he lived or worked in over 35 countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa. He volunteered as an Alzheimer caregiver for Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey for many years and served on nonprofit boards such as Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity and Friends of Shirati.
